New developments have recently been made to speed up the process of building Greek housing on campus. However, current plans were put on hold last week due to the current developments of a hospital that will be built in 2010. Although a hospital on campus is clearly more important then Greek housing, this was a huge disapointment for the Greek community.
President Brogan says the plans for Greek housing will fall back into place once more funding is available, however any construction has been put on hold inevitably. Many Greeks find the recent decision a step backwards for Greek life. John Marquez, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity says "the Greeks are ready and have waited long enough, at this rate, Greek housing will never become a reality."
In the mean time Greek organizations are continuing to push for housing despite the recent developments.
